Sorry! + a Wedding

Internet,
I'm bad at blogging.

There, I said it.
And I'll be honest, It's not really that I've been too busy- (I mean I have been busy...) but it's just that... I'd rather watch a movie with my husband, or try and cook dinner (because I'm even worse at that), or read a book (because I haven't given myself time for that in a LONG time...) or work really hard on finalizing details for all the new stuff that's coming.

I've already begun making a New Year's resolution list, and man oh man is it a LONG one... Sheesh, who knew I had so much improving to do to my life?! Haha!

Anyway, I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting a wedding for the lovely Mrs. Strebeck this weekend. You can head on over to her blog to see even more awesomeness from this wedding.
This couple was truly an inspiration, and their wedding ceremony was as Brittany put it, one of the most God Glorifying ceremonies I've ever been too. It was absolutely wonderful.
Enjoy a few photos! :)

I never use sepia photos, but for some reason, I was inspired to try it out! What do you think?!

Brittany hard at work...

the theme for portraits for this wedding was sunflare...you will see what I mean in a minute...

the girls had a GREAT time getting ready! :)

there she is hard at work again!

and I stole this image from her blog, to show you the outcome- gorgeous!

beautiful girls...

just about to walk down the aisle...

paige + scotty | midland wedding photographer

Paige & Scotty had a beautiful wedding this past weekend at the Mid-Cities Church in Midland, TX. Their wedding was extra special to me for a few reasons.
1.- Paige and Scotty are just awesome. period.
2.- This was the very first wedding I (Casey) shot by myself without Aric!
and 3. The beautiful, wonderful, talented, sweet...did I mention beautiful and talented? Brittany Strebck came along to help me out, calm my nerves during formals, let me borrow her equipment, teach me a few things, and just make the day that much more enjoyable!
The day was flawless. Paige kept saying..."Everything is perfect, it's just how I always dreamed it would be..." But then again... how could everthing not be perfect when it's your wedding day...and you're marrying the man of your dreams...
Right?
:)
Enjoy some of my favorites from their day!
aric + casey

while Paige was getting her hair done...Scotty's brother brought her a gift from him... It was the beautiful pair of diamon earrings below, and all the girls oohed and aahed over them... Way to go Scotty!!

make-up time is always fun!

The guys lookin' all studly...

and the beautiful girls!

Scotty sayin' his vows...

Sweet prayer after the unity candle...

And someone looks excited to be Mrs. Bartlett!!

we got to sneak away for a few portraits of just the two of them... and the golden sunset was makin' our job easy!

a toast in the limo on the way to the reception...

:)

super fun ring shots...

and no reception is complete without a rockin' dance party!... :)

*Thanks again Brittany! for helping me out with this wedding! :) You are awesome!

heather + mike | lubbock wedding photographer

First, I want to start off by saying a big THANK-YOU for everyone who gave their input on the "pop quiz" below. You can never really know what we're up to over here sometimes-but I do promise that your input helped us our immensely! we love you guys so much-everyone who supports us, encourages us, blogstalks us and so on! You guys are the reason that we get to keep doing what we love to do-and for that we are forever grateful!
:)
Now on to heather & mike's wedding! It was the most serene and wonderfuly cloudy day here in Lubbock-not too hot, not too cold. It was perfect.
Throughout the wedding planning process Heather had asked us several times about doing the "first look". She couldn't decide, she was nervous about it, she didn't want it to be wrong. So we talked her through it, telling her all along that it was up to her and we were okay with whatever decision she made. She finally decided on doing the first look-and I don't think she could have made a better decision- all morning long she was a little nervous about everything, and the second she saw Mike it all went away. We took the two of them off for some fun portraits, and Aric asked her how she felt-and her response was- "I'm not nervous at all anymore!"
perfect.
just another reason that first look's are so wonderful!
I'm jumping down off my soap box, I promise!
This was our second wedding to work with Jill, from Eat, Drink and be Marry- she's so wonderful!
:) Here are a few favorites from their wedding!!

love these two...

a few wedding details...

love this shot Aric got of heather & her dad walking down the aisle...

heather must have said something funny here... :)

they had a candy bar at their reception so we used it for their ring shot...and then I ate the candy afterward. ;)

and in honor of October/fall/halloween-we played around even more with the ring shots

the reception was beautiful! Here are just a few details...
