shari | trash the dress

Shari is officially my hero. In more ways than one. If you remember from her wedding in August-she wore chucks with her wedding dress, took portraits in a laundry mat, and served ice cold dublin dr. pepper at her reception. That's my kinda girl. So when I got the email inviting Aric & I along for a little trash the dress session I was over the top ecstatic! I mean, trash the dress is like...VERY hard to come by--but trash the dress with Shari-the fearless?!?! That's once in a lifetime.

We had a blast! Shari was up for anything- getting inside and on top of dirty old trucks, wading through creeks, and yes, even taking a dip in a mucky Lubbock playa lake! The day was completely overcast as we wished for it to actually rain on us, but instead we got something better. Just as we were leaving one of our last locations there was a break in the clouds and the sun shone through at the most perfect time. I mean, I couldn't have planned it better myself. It was truly amazing.

balloon | fiesta!

Last weekend was my very first trip ever to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. Aric thought it might be something I would enjoy, so he planned the weekend and we had a blast. One night- (since the balloon glow got rained out) he even took me to race go karts!! And let me tell you, they weren't your ordinary go-karts! We had to watch an instructional video, wear helmets aaaand...they were FAST. Like-scary, peeling out, afraid I'm gonna die fast. Lol, but it was so much fun! And even though we only got to enjoy part of the balloon fiesta- the part we made it to was beautiful!! Here are some fun pictures!!!

caroline + jonathan | engagement

He spotted her from across the room-those brilliant blue eyes, and stunning smile and thought to himself I’m not even gonna talk to her, I don’t have a chance…
Lucky for him, Caroline thought otherwise.  She found her seat at the end of the refreshments table and as Jonathan made his way through the line he was caught by surprise when she jumped out of her seat with what he claims was an overly enthusiastic hello and introduction.

She can’t quite remember if that’s really how it happened but she goes along with it anyway-happy in the fact that no matter how it happened…at least it happened. 

They spent their first semester looking forward to that once dreaded class and after cultivating their friendship over those months, he knew there was no match to her brilliant blue eyes, stunning smile, and inviting demeanor and decided he had to ask her to be his girlfriend.

Two and a half years later-there is still no match, and with both of them getting ready to turn the page to the next chapter in their lives- sending out applications to Graduate and Law School-Jonathan decided to add an exciting new twist to that chapter by asking Caroline to be his wife.

I went to high school with Jonathan & after meeting and spending some time with him and Caroline it's easy to see they were meant for each other.  Our shoot was full of kissing, cuddling, and tons and tons of laughing!!

at the beginning of the shoot, they told us they probably wouldn't be very good at the serious poses...and that they were mostly just fun & traditional-after seeing the above pictures I think we have proved that they totally rock the serious pictures- but I put together this little thing to show off their fun, goofy sides!!  I love it!


Thanks so much Jonathan & Caroline for letting us be a part of this special time in your lives!!  Ya'll were so great in front of the camera! And just a blast to hang out with!  It was a blessing to witness your love for one another in person! It truly illuminates in everything you do!! Congratulations and Thank you again!!

sorry for the title...I just couldn't find any words that would suffice to describe the INSANE excitement and incredible emotion that I'm feeling right at this very moment...

For starters- I have the MOST amazing boyfriend, best friend, and business partner IN THE WORLD!!!
so here's a little clarification...


Today is Thursday (one of my favorite days of the week because I am finished with work and classes by 3:30 and have a few hours to myself before positioning myself in front of the computer to edit pictures or finish up some homework)
So I came home today, elated to be so close to the weekend with the plans to watch an episode of Gilmore Girls before getting back to work. I guess it's just habit that I walk into my office to check my e-mail and take a peek at Facebook as soon as I walk in the door. So what's the first thing that pops up on my news feed on facebook when it opens?- "Lauren Clark has uploaded new photos" Yesssss!! I thought to myself as I headed directly for her blog to drool over the perfect pictures that awaited me there. (I visit her blog probably twice a day...every day...even when she says she's gonna be out of town-why?-who knows?!-I'm addicted or something...) So there I was, minding my own business scrolling down swiftly to find the first post-everything seemed perfectly normal to me and I almost missed it-

So now back to the reason that I'm the darn luckiest girl on the planet. Because I get to go to the Love Affair Workshop? Yes. But mostly because the man of my dreams spent an entire week, staying up until 3 a.m. most nights with a group of his best friends and roommates to enter a contest for me. So that he could make one of my wildest dreams come true...
I'm a little overwhelmed. Excited. Speechless.
So I'll go ahead and let the pictures do the talking...Look what Aric entered into the contest...
